PNG Trekking Adventures have been inbound tour operators in Papua New Guinea since 2003.
As we live here we are passionate about the country and its people. All our overseas guides have PNG Work Permits and are legally permitted to work in Papua New Guinea. We are a PNG IPA approved company.
The above information also applies when we are operating abroad we are very aware that we must adhere to the regulations of that country. We always go through a locally based indigenous operator. We will not go into a country and operate our own tours. It is very important to us that the benefit of the tourism dollar goes back to the people of the country that we are working in.
PNG Trekking Adventures Guides on all of our expeditions are with you from the time you step off the plane until the time you get back on it for your return journey home. We take small manageable groups. You are just not a number; we want our clients to experience the true culture of the country that we are visiting and to share our passion.
Papua New Guinea Expeditions:
Kokoda Trail: Is our most famous trek here in Papua New Guinea. It is steeped in WW11 history and is an emotional and physically challenging walk. We have spent many hours on the track opening up new areas for trekkers to visit pertaining to the Kokoda campaign. Our bond with the Koiari people along the track is strong. Our sustainable development projects in the villages are ongoing and are now bringing in an income for the villagers.
Mount Wilhelm: Come and climb our challenging little mountain, Mt Wilhelm, PNG and Oceania’s highest mountain at 4509 meters. This is one of the most stunningly scenic areas of Papua New Guinea. For a smorgasbord of culture come visit us in August/September. Combine climbing the mountain followed by attending the famous Mount Hagen cultural show. Not to be missed.
Milne Bay Trekking/Kayaking/Stand Up Paddle Boarding: Be one of the first to experience this new six day product. It’s raw and out there. Two days of spectacular trekking and two days paddling on an amazingly beautiful river. Stay in local guest houses and experience the true Papua New Guinea. Spend an extra day exploring Alotau, diving or snorkeling.
Cultural Shows, Bird Watching and Diving: We can also facilitate tours for.
Torres del Paine: Our Torres del Paine trek itinerary in Patagonia is catered so that our trekkers are not trekking or staying with the masses. Trek the full circuit and experience all the beauty and ruggedness the Park has to offer.
Sandakan Death March: In Borneo it is raw and very seldom trekked. It is the “Conspiracy of Silence” is very emotional; hear about the untold horrors of the Death March undertaken by Australian and British WW11 soldiers.
Mount Kilimanjaro: Everyone does it, but not everyone gets to stay in the crater of the mountain and trek to the “Ash Pit”. Again we take the most unused track up the mountain, taking 7 days to complete the climb acclimatizing and ensuring that everyone has the best possible chance to summit.
Walking/Canoeing Safari: Travel to the heart of Zimbabwe and walk and paddle with the animals. This amazing expedition has been 2 years in the making. The animals are prolific, a must for families. Your grandchildren will not see the animals that we are seeing now.
Silver Back Gorilla’s in Rwanda, Safari’s and the Galapagos Islands: These are add ons that can be arranged after Mount Kilimanjaro and Torres del Paine.
